After a rather long hiatus from DevaintArt, during which time I was wallowing in a creative slump and completely withdrawn from reality, I have finally summoned the will to move on and resume my artistic endeavors. It's been almost insurmountably difficult for me to overcome my own self-inflicted complications, but I'm slowly dragging myself forward and away from my quondam state of decline and stagnation. In retrospect, I don't rue or regret my abject deterioration. It provided me with an abundance of experience and inspiration that I could never have otherwise realized.
It took hitting rock bottom, and digging even deeper underground, before I could finally resurface and reclaim my existence and identity.
The extreme highs and lows induced by various forms of addiction, the euphoric, unrestrained indulgences and, inversely, the pain and deprivation I inflicted upon myself, have coalesced to form a vastly more enriched and productive me. Although, sometimes I wonder if I'm even capable of settling into a healthy equilibrium. Or maybe I can't because I don't want to. I'd perish of ennui before I could accomplish anything.
At least I read a lot of good books.
